Aunty B Ballangarry Yarning Circle

Using an ancient, supportive Indigenous model for experiencing uncertainty, grief, recovery, gratitude and comfort, Circle is based on the powerful simplicity of traditional cultural practices. The concept comes from a time when community engaged through sitting together, yarning up, holding sacred ceremonies and meetings and where listening to stories and respecting Elders was customary.

Circle Work is a group practice of deep inner listening, self-reflection and accountability where participants undertake a journey of empowerment, recovery and growth. This process is simple, non-threatening and a co-creation by all who are present.

Elder Aunty Bea Ballangarry says,

‘I’ve been holding circles now for 30 years, and this is the first one on an education campus.’
